Abba – The Early Days

“…Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine…” ~Abba

Even as I type this, I can’t help but sing! This song brings back so many memories of the little girl who would put on a full circle skirt and turn the music up. Alive with possibility and quite fearless I might add, I would put on music and dance in t

he lounge almost every opportunity I got. Our lounge is sunken and the dining room floor seemed like a perfect stage for me. What seemed to be a harmless music and dance session then seemed to be what set the tone for me for the road ahead. I always knew I loved dancing, I just never knew that that little girl would be the one performing for audiences of people, sharing little pieces of my soul through the beauty of belly dance.

I don’t think we take time to think about how so much of our youth sets the tone for the dreams we have as young teenager and adults. I’m glad I got to be the dancing queen I was when I was little, I have seen that dreams do come true 🙂
